InterCity Brussels - Amsterdam disappears
From 15 December 2024, the InterCity Brussels - Amsterdam will cease to run. Eurocity Direct and EuroCity will from then on operate the service between Belgium and the Netherlands.
Employees of ProRail (railway infrastructure manager in the Netherlands) have submitted strike notices for 11, 13, 15, 18, 20 and 22 November
Each time, these actions will involve local strikes in a specific alternating region between 6am and 9am.
Tickets for the IC Brussels-Amsterdam at Flex fare are refundable free of charge and can be used flexibly on any IC train of the day. Exceptionally, Early Bird tickets for travel on 13 and 18 November can also be refunded free of charge or used flexibly on any IC train of the day.
Due to planned engineering works on the Dutch rail network, InterCity Netherlands trains will be diverted to an alternative route between Rotterdam and Amsterdam from Saturday 16 to Sunday 1 December 2024 inclusive. As a consequence, they will not call at Schiphol-Airport and the travel time will be slightly adjusted.
Passengers to Schiphol-Airport can change trains in Rotterdam and make use of other NS (Dutch railway) operated trains to Schiphol-Airport.
